Victoria and Kohl’s Once Upon a December Wedding, San Diego

Victoria and Kohl said "I do" in an early December wedding at BRICK San Diego. Located in a Historic Landmark Building, BRICK exudes originality and character. At the same time, it's clean and cozy. The abundant natural light in the space made for incredible photos.

First, let's talk about that dress. Victoria's sheer, long-sleeved ballgown was well-suited for the December San Diego weather. The lace and the detailing of the dress were absolutely stunning. The bride and bridesmaids wore matching robes for getting-ready photos, and we love the way they all went wrists-in for a group shot to show off their custom wedding gifts. The bracelets were a pretty memento of the moment the girls shared together and were perfect for stacking and wearing again after the wedding.

Charcoal grey was the color of the day. Can we say how obsessed we are with this couple leaning into the dark neutrals of winter months to give their wedding party a sophisticated look? Victoria and Kohl straight up proved that neutrals do not have to be boring. Yes, yes, yes. More, please! The red accents added a seasonal touch and accentuated the sumptuous quality of all that grey.

The ladies' bouquets deserve their own moment. Eucalyptus, greenery, and ruby reds came together creating a unique shape and look. This color and composition combo also works really well for drying flowers, if that's something you're considering doing after the wedding.

Victoria added a faux fur wrap for a little more drama in her portraits. This look is the ultimate in vintage wedding inspiration. We love a bridal wrap of any kind, but we especially love a winter faux fur wrap. So seasonal, so practical, so luxurious! Victoria's wrap was extra-glorious because of the way it paired with the lace detailing on her sleeves.

Their ceremony space was filled with more greenery. It climbed up the aisle and decorated the ceremony arch. Greenery in weddings has been one of the recent wedding trends that we're most into. It brings color and that floral touch, plus it's often heartier that flowers (and more affordable). Victoria and Kohl paired the lush greens with swaths of luxe red fabric that gave their ceremony a romantic yet contemporary feel.

The bride and groom stole a private moment for some breath-taking sunset photos. The vibrant blue of the sky and the winter palm trees made the perfect backdrop for their San Diego wedding photography. They took advantage of the natural outdoor greenery to stunning effect. We always swoon over sunset photos and the magical lighting they provide.

Victoria did a quick change into a shorter party dress for the reception! She kept the full skirt of the original look, this time paired with a shorter hemline, allowing her to get out there on the dance floor without having to worry about people stepping on her dress. We love the subtle vintage feel in this look, too.

Of course, it wouldn't be a wedding-- or a wedding post-- without something sweet at the end. Victoria and Kohl had a number of sweet surprises for their quests. First, there was their two-tiered wedding cake topped with red flowers. The couple also included treats made by friends and family. Emily brought some home-made red confections (way to be on theme, Emily. Amanda brought to-die-for brownies. Homemade treats are a great way to bring love into your dessert course. Just make sure to check with your caterer to make sure they allow it!

We'll be serving up cool weather wedding inspiration all month, so check back often. There's always something new!
