The Everything Guide to Putting Together the Perfect Bridal Flower Crown

These days, there is no “one way” to approach bridal style. From your dress to your accessories, you have options. If you’re not a veil kind of bride, we love the look of a bridal flower crown. One of the fantastic things about flower crowns is that they don’t require a lot of extra bridal accessories. With the color and statement they bring, they’re stand-alone bridal pieces. Flower crowns are also perfect for the DIY bride because they’re pretty easy to make.

When choosing your flower crown, you want to start by considering your personal style along with the season and climate of your wedding. You may want to keep in mind which flowers will be in season at the time you’re tying the knot. Then, you want to choose a focus and a style for how the flowers will be arranged. Do you want the flowers to be in the back? On the side? Or all around the crown? Different placements create different looks and vibes.

The size of the flowers can also create different feelings. Tiny flowers create an ethereal look. They’re more subtle and delicate. Larger flowers have a more dramatic look, and you may want to concentrate larger buds to one area of the wreath.

Tropical or bold and bright brides may want to go with something with more color and punch, whereas winter brides would look beautiful with green wreaths, bedecked with berries and seasonal accents.

If you’re concerned about how fresh flowers will hold up, you can consider faux options. Faux flowers have gotten so good that no one will know the difference. You can also go the metallic route— which we love — with a floral embellished crown in silver or gold. Both of these options give you ample time to play with the flower crown before the wedding.

You can keep your flower crown as your special touch for the big day, or you can share the fun with your bridal party. Whether you want to be flanked by maids in flower crowns, or fly solo with blossoms in your hair, it’ll have a stunning effect. There’s really no wrong way to go when it comes to flower crowns.
