Kelsey and Brantley’s Charming Traditional Wedding, Charleston

Kelsey and Brantley were married at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston. Their stately affair blended fresh approaches with time-honored traditions.

Kelsey’s bridal style was uniquely romantic. She carried a gorgeous cascading spring bouquet. The variation in flower shape and size gave the arrangement a unique and modern feel while keeping the color palette muted and classic. Her fitted dress looked resplendent with the beaded detail that brought texture to the demure silhouette. Her train brought the drama, and we love how her wedding photographer got shots of the dress from the back to showcase the full impact of the train. She wore her hair upswept with a simple, romantic veil.

The bridesmaids wore cornflower blue dresses in different cuts. The mix-matched bridesmaid dresses complimented the pale pink flowers so beautifully, and they served as Kelsey’s “something blue.”

Brantley wore a black suit with a pink boutonniere and a pale pink tie. The groomsmen sported grey suits with black piping on the lapels and black ties. Keeping the groomsmen in greyscale allowed Brantley’s pale pink touches to pop and look perfectly sharp.

The ceremony was full of traditional charm. From the wood floors to the gilded fireplace, the Francis Marion Hotel brought the glamour of an old-world estate. We love the gold backdrop for the ceremony. The monochromatic color scheme of the room made the bold color choice feel like a neutral, accentuating each of Kelsey and Brantley’s wedding colors.

After the ceremony, Kelsey and Brantley took to the streets of Charleston for their wedding portraits. A city as charming as Charleston has ample opportunities for the perfect wedding photography moments, and we love to see couples take advantage of what’s around them. From the marquis outside the hotel to a scenic stroll across the street to the stunning foliage in the park, Kelsey and Brantley gave us 100 reasons to want to tie the knot in Charleston.
